Wajaana Yaam Gumbaynggirr Adventure Tours are important for our local Gumbaynggirr community. Tourism provides us with the opportunity to ensure the continuation of the transfer of intergenerational cultural knowledge whilst also providing employment.
Furthermore, a proportion of our profits will be invested in Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation (BMNAC). BMNAC delivers weekly after school learning centres (90 annually), cultural camps and extensive Gumbaynggirr language revitalization initiatives.

Gumbaynggirr
Coffs Harbour is situated in Gumbaynggirr country – Gumbaynggirr is one of 250 distinct Aboriginal tribal sovereign nations that have existed on the continent of Australia since time immemorial.
Long ago, the country here was given the name and language Gumbaynggirr. The people who were living on this country were then forced to speak the language that the country speaks – Gumbaynggirr. In doing so, the people also became Gumbaynggirr. Thus highlighting the interconnectedness of country, language and people.
Our tours take place on the homelands of the Gumbaynggirr tribal nation and all of our guides are Gumbaynggirr people or Aboriginal people who have strong familial ties to Gumbaynggirr country. This ensures that you will receive a 100% authentic cultural experience whilst also enjoying adventure!

Apologies for taking so long but I was just reflecting on how wonderful the paddle boarding experience was for myself and a friend a while ago and thought I should share how relaxing and informative it was. I have referred this experience to many people for its beauty, peace and cultural learnings. We did the Red Rock tour and the cultural history, the bush Tucker and the ease and safety of the trip for both the young and old was exceptional. You guys are stars.

First Nation cultural paddle board experience set in tranquil creeks
An incredible Experience learning about the culture and land of the First Nations people.
I had two 9 year olds who shared a board and my wife and I were seperate. Clarke was an incredible guide who taught us lots about of history as we slowly paddled down the creek through crystal clear blue water teaming with fish.
We learnt about the history of the two sisters and the creation of the ocean. Where to dig for fresh water and how it is filter. Lots of language. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
